From ‘Like I Care’ to “Please, Hold My Trophy!” Ashny has officially entered her winning era!
The Pop/R&B songstress clinched her first career award at the 10th-anniversary edition of the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF), held on September 12, 2026, at the Pearson Convention Center, Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
Ashny triumphed in the Best International Music Video category with ‘Like I Care,’ a standout track off her EP Wildcat, marking her first professional win since releasing her debut album, Ashny Ain’t Playing, in October 2023.
And no, she hasn’t exactly been playing since then!
Her growing discography includes Charity Begins, Celebrations, Ashny Swings Her Hips, H.O.E, Femme Fatale, Femalepreneur, and Ashny&Mooh: SHemancipation.
The winning video was filmed by music video maestro Abula, husband of comedy skit sensation Taaooma, while Koffi Tha Guru scripted, produced and co-directed the project.
Dramatic performances by Mario Davidson Omasoro and Princess Ada added extra spice to the visuals.
Ashny was represented at the ceremony by veteran actor Bukola Thomas, who accepted the trophy on her behalf and delivered a heartwarming speech.
Written by Koffi Tha Guru and produced by Lychy, ‘Like I Care’ is available on all major streaming platforms.
But Ashny isn’t stopping to admire the trophy just yet. Her upcoming projects include the much-anticipated album EllEvated and the EPs P.O.M.E and A Dose Of Lagbaja. The album’s lead single, ‘Fresh,’ is already out, a celebration of gratitude and good vibes.
Beyond music, Ashny has wrapped filming her new musical movie, Maale: Strong Woman, featuring William Benson, Elvina Ibru, Gloria Ibru, Bukola Thomas, Mooh and Dede Mabiaku.
The music video for ‘Strong Woman’ has also been released ahead of the movie’s premiere on December 13, 2026, at The Coson House, Ikeja, Lagos.
From making music to making moves on the international stage, Ashny is proving that when a woman knows her worth, the world eventually takes notice.
One trophy down. More music, more screens, more milestones ahead. Ashny ain’t playing and now, she has the hardware to prove it!
