Comedian extraordinaire, Koffi The Guru’s Mumble Jumble for premiere

All is now set for the premiere of ‘Mumble Jumble’, the highly publicised latest movie of the famous humour merchant, Koffi Tha Guru. The official screening tagged Corporate Special is slated for Wednesday June 12 at the Muson Centre, Lagos. Mumble Jumble, the awesome thriller that is hip-hop driven shall be screening to audiences at 12noon, 3pm and 7pm. Koffi pulls out another alter ego from his bag of numerous characters as he plays Soji aka Rapper Tapper. A struggling failed rapper who tries to get back in the game. Encouraged by his girlfriend and long time manager they discover new ways to revamp his brand. He battles through different odds. A nagging mother, a crafty record label boss, a mischievous lady amongst other ordeals that almost gets him killed. He survives and this makes him stronger and more determined. Other players in Mumble Jumble include award winning actress Omowunmi Dada, Baba Dee, Seun Kentebe, Bukky Thomas and introduces Catherine Bashua Alimi, Ibrahim \’Ibro Lee\’ Bakare, Kemi Michaels and a host of other fresh talents. The highly entertaining ‘Mumble Jumble’ teaches hope to the young generation and how to conquer low self esteem by believing in oneself. House of Assembly: 32 year old Ogundoyin emerges Oyo Speaker

32-year-old member representing Ibarapa East Constituency, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, on Monday emerged Speaker of the Oyo state house of assembly. Ogundoyin who is the only returning lawmaker out of the overwhelming 26 members elected on the platform of PDP was nominated by Hon. Adebayo Babajide, representing Ibadan North Constituency for the Speakership position, seconded by Hon. Adeola Bamidele from Iseyin/Itesiwaju local government. The clerk of the assembly, Ms. Felicia Oyediran, later sworn in Hon. Ogundoyin who was unanimously elected by the entire 32 lawmakers of the State. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin is one of the sons of the late philanthropist and industrialist, late Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, who won the Ibarapa East by-election on the 2nd of June, 2018 to fill the post rendered vacant by the death of the late speaker of the 8th Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Michael Adeyemo. In his inaugural speech, Ogundoyin promised to operate an open door policy in order to avoid any form of mistrust among lawmakers and also between the legislators and executives. He said: “Our state sets the pace of a new generation leaders by electing me as the youngest Speaker in the history of the state and Nigeria. “Politically, Oyo state has always set pace for good things in the Nigeria, and I promise, we the 9th will raise the bar of quality representation of the people. “I need your support, cooperation and advices on how to move the house forward and you are free to call me to order when I am about to drift.” “Our dream is to make Oyo State House of Assembly a model to others across Nigeria. Jarrell Miller branded Anthony Joshua a “prima donna” as their rivalry ignited in New York. The pair moved to face off at Madison Square Garden in front of the media yesterday but Miller instead shoved his opponent. Suspected herdsmen kill 16 persons in Benue

Suspected herdsmen yesterday killed 16 persons in an early morning attack on Ebete community in Agatu Local Council of Benue State. The Guardian learnt that the 1.30 a.m. invasion also left scores injured. An eyewitness, Daddy Seni, whose father was slain alongside his siblings, said he was called on phone by his dad while heading for fishing in the neighboring Aloko settlement.According to him, on arriving home, he saw his father in his pool of blood screaming, “my son, do no bother about me and your siblings again. Ours have finished. We cannot survive these gunshots. Run for your dear life and tell others about this.” The council chairman, Alhaji Oyigocho, who confirmed the incident, stated that he and his entourage, including security personnel, heard the assailants speak Fulani language while fleeing the scene after perpetrating the act. Oyigocho appealed to government to urgently come to the aid of the people and contain further onslaughts.His words: “This is happening at a time Nigerians are preparing to elect new leaders in this Saturday elections. If the situation continues, it will disorganise so many things. “My people have never taken laws into their hands despite provocations from herdsmen. They had in the past taken over farmlands in most parts of Agatu.”The council boss said of the 16 casualties, three were Jukum hunters while two others are currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained. The Commander, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Major-General Adeyemi Yekini, was doubtful of the casualty figure.“I received a report this afternoon (yesterday) that some people were killed in Agatu by suspected armed bandits. We have sent a patrol team to the general area where the incident happened. “Though the location is in Benue, it can better be accessed through Loko in Nasarawa State,” he said in a statement.In a similar vein, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has neutralised dozens of terrorists when its fighter jet bombarded a Boko Haram camp at Arboko village in Borno State. Its spokesman, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, in a statement yesterday in Maiduguri, said the aerial strikes were launched after an intelligence platform established the presence of insurgents in the border town with Cameroun. He said: “The fighter jet of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has decimated a Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) camp and neutralised some of their fighters at a settlement called Arboko in Borno State.” On how the terrorists were eliminated, Daramola hinted: “The operation was conducted on February 18, 2019 while a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha.Jet and an Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform were providing close air support to troops of 82 Brigade, Nigerian Army.“During the operation, the ISR aircraft spotted a group of BHT fighters within Arboko village and vectored the Alpha Jet to engage their camp.” 933 Views

IPMAN denies reduction in petrol price

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has denied a planned reduction in the Petrol pump price to N140 per litre. The plan was allegedly taken to encourage Nigerians travel to cast their votes. But, the National President of IPMAN, Sanusi Sari, who made the clarifications in Abuja yesterday, denied the reduction announced by the IPMAN National Controller, Operations, Mike Osatuyi earlier in the week. Osatuyi had said the pump price would sell for N140 per litre in IPMAN-member filling stations across the country from February 20 to 25 2019. Sari disclosed that the association has no intention to take any such decision without proper and adequate consultations with the regulatory government agencies. A statement in Abuja yesterday by the National Public Relations Officer of IPMAN, Ukadike Chinedu quoted Sari as saying: “IPMAN has not received any correspondence from Petroleum Product Marketing Company (PPMC), the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) that pump price has been reduced, or is to be reduced.” He said IPMAN feels the pains of millions of Nigerians who felt disappointed, as well as many who may end up being disenfranchised by the INEC’s sudden decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reschedule the general election.He however added that they have not reached any conclusion on pump price reduction, stressing that the proponents of such information want to cause artificial scarcity of petroleum product.He commended the Federal Government and the NNPC for making petroleum products available all through the election period. IPMAN wished Nigerians well in their individual and collective efforts to perform their civic responsibility of voting on Saturday February 23 in choosing their leaders, the statement said.The association urged Nigerians to discountenance the rumoured price reduction, even as state Chairman of the IPMAN in Bauchi State, Rabiu Ahmed Baba said yesterday that the state would not obey any directive to reduce fuel price. Meanwhile, the National Executive leadership of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has affirmed that there would be uninterrupted distribution of petroleum products during the polls.National President of NUPENG, Williams Akporeha, in a statement also notified its members to remain unfettered in discharging their legitimate duties so that the electoral process will be smooth and hitch-free. 596 Views
